This document provides data and statistics about volunteer fire departments in Pennsylvania. This website provides a chart listing the counties of Pennsylvania with the numbers of volunteer fire departments and the population of each ccounty. It states that there has been a decline in the number of volunteerism for the fire departments and they were looking into the regionalization of the fire departments.

This website has an original ticket for a fundraising dance to help build the fire house in Donaldson, Pennsylvania. This small town is located near our school and some of our students live in the small town. This would be a neat resource to show the students and it would promote a connection to what they may already know.

The Hose Hook and Ladder website provided data about past fire department staff and statistics. The department provided a timeline of events that have happened in the past. I am sure that if I contact this department they would be able to share original meeting documents.

This local fire department also had a timeline format when describing the historical events of their company. They provided statistical information through the timeline. I am planning on contacting each of the local companies to see if they have any original documents to share for my presentation.

This firefighter cartoon seems to represent the fire departments throughout the country. By using the credit card slogan priceless, this cartoon captures the estimated cost of materials needed to effectively be a firefighter.

This website provided a very appropriate cartoon for kindergarteners. It shows a little child dressed in a firefighter outfit holding a hose standing next to a dalmation and states "Future Firefighter."

The Cambridge Ohio Fire Department website has photographs of fire department equipment. I could use various photographs from this website to describe the vehicles used throughout the history of fire departments.

The website provides information and photographs of historical facts about fire department history of some organizations in the United States of America. I could use this website to gather important historical information about fire departments to present background knowledge to the students.

This website provides photographs of fire department apparatus that have been used throughout the history of fire departments. I am planning on using a power point to present my content and using photgraphs from this resource could enhance the presentation.

This website would be a great review website that engages students to learn about fire safety through fun interactive games. It also assesses their knowledge learned throughout the unit about fire safety.

This website provides photographs of fire equipment used during Chicago Fire Department history. This is another resource that provides photographs of fire department equipment from the past. A useful tool that I may use for extension activities to compare and contrast fire departments of today from the past.

The Texas Fire Museum posts mulitple antique fire department apparatus. This is another website that provides many pictures of fire department vehicles. I could also use these photographs in my presentation.

This website provided an age appropriate poster of a child in a firefighting uniform and there is a paragraph that describes what it takes to be a firefighter. I believe that the children could learn from this poster about what it will take to be a firefighter.

This website includes songs that enhance learning. The website provides the lyrics for the song and it can be taught to my kindergarteners. The first couple of verses can be heard on the website for free but to hear the full version you must pay to download the song. clear examples of how to prevent house fires and the steps to escape safely from a burning building. It also shows a fire fighter when he is dressed in his equipment so that children will not be scared of the fire fighter.

This provides an engaging music video referring to calling 911.
This video sites the importance of calling 911 and when to call 911. The second video has the fire fighter explaining what he does and what he wears to a fire.
